A lot of people have been watching J Lo to see what her next move would be – personally and career-wise. As for her professional life, she’s already had a flub, with her car commercial, where she is driving around “the streets of NY”, and claiming that it is her “playground” (her words, not mine). After she gives a great voiceover:

“This is my world. This place inspires me,” Lopez says in a voiceover. “To be tougher, to stay sharper, to think faster.”

“They may be just streets to you,” she adds. “But to me they’re a playground.”

In the commercial, it looks as though she is driving around from Manhattan and the Bronx where she came from, but in reality, she is on set in Los Angeles. Well, she can definitely get kudos for being an actress, she sure had us fooled!

Now, on to her personal life. We all know that she and Marc Anthony have gotten a divorce. During the Thanksgiving weekend, J LO was seen with a backup dancer Casper Smart. (What is it with female celebs and their backup dancers? And wasn’t it J Lo that dated one in the past?)

The two were spotted together in Kauai, Hawaii in a cabana; she was wearing a bikini and he was shirtless. She has yet to confirm a relationship with him, but she did say that her children come first:

“And because of them, I wouldn’t ever comment on anything until I’m in a serious relationship again. It would just be confusing for them and it would be unfair. And so at the end of the day, it’s about them.”

The friendly neighborhood Spider Man, Tobey Maguire, is in legal waters right now. Who’d-a-thunk?! Well, according to reports, he didn’t know that he was engaging in any criminal activities and is willing to settle the case financially. Tobey has agreed to pay $80,000 to settle a lawsuit that involved a shady Ponzi scheme operator that paid him over $311,000 in winnings from Texas Hold ‘Em matches. There were other celebrities, businessmen and other people that were participated in these games as well (who all claim to not have known about the scheme). Only 14 of the 22 people (including Ben Affleck, Leo Decaprio and Matt Damon) that have been sued by Howard Ehrenberg, the bankruptcy trustee, have settled their cases. Ehrenberg filed the lawsuit in March on behalf of the investors of the scheme.

Tobey Maguire will know some time next month whether the judge approves of his settlement. In his settlement, he states that he “disputes that he violated any laws, rules or regulations in regard to participating in the poker games” and that the only reason he was settling was to avoid the high costs of fighting the case. The trustee alleges that Maguire and the others being sued has no right to keem the winnings that were derived from unlicensed poker games, which took place at upscale hotels and even private homes. The Ponzi schemer, former hedge fund operator, Bradly Ruderman, is facing 10 years in jail. He pleaded guilty to two counts of wire fraud, willful failure to file taxes and two counts of investment adviser fraud.

For years, Christina Aguilera and Kelly Osbourn have gone at each other over their self-images and what they think of one another. Ozzy’s daughter says that Aguilera has called her fat one too many times. Now, that the celeb has lost 48 lbs, and it looks as though Christina has picked that up.

It all started back when Kelly made a commented on her reality TV show that she wanted to stab herself after listening to the pop singer’s Christmas CD. Then Christina retaliated by throwing darts at Kelly’s picture on the 2003 MTV Europe Awards. She even made a statement of saying that Kelly had a crush on her. According to Kelly, the real beef began due to Aguilera calling the singer/reality star fat.

“She called me fat for so many f***ing years,” Osbourne said last month. “So you know what? F**k you! You’re fat too.” In August Joan Rivers made a comment that Aguilera looked “stuffed into” her Givenchy dress at a red carpet event, and Kelly made the snaky reply, “Maybe she is just becoming the fat b– she was born to be. I don’t know.”

Rivers’ co-host George Kotsiopoulos tried to defend the singer by saying she still looked like a size 2/4, but not to Kelly, who said, “Trust me. I’m a 2/4. That is not a 2/4.”

Speaking of the battles of weight in the celebrity world, model Katie Halchishick did a nude photoshoot for O Magazine with an outline of what it would take to look like Barbie. From the pic below you can see a lot of work would have to be done. For some young women who struggle with self image issues, you can imagine how they feel knowing that even top models would have to undergo so much just to get to the so-called perfect Barbie doll figure.

One day, celebrities will learn to use harder to guess passwords for their email and phone accounts. Yet another celeb’s account has been hacked, this time by a Florida man named Christopher Chaney. He got into Scarlett Johansson’s Yahoo and Apple account, and after shopping around her nude pics to various media outlets, he finally posted them online on his own, after no one wanted to buy them. But this isn’t the first time the Jacksonville, Florida man has hacked into someone’s account. His first time was when he was teenager, when he did a Prudential Life Insurance mail-order fraud to obtain information about people, then stole the identities of those that had similar names to him.

Thirty-five year old Chaney was arrested on Wednesday and is being charged with 26 counts of identity theft, wiretapping and unauthorized access to personal protected computers. If a guilty verdict is given for all accounts, he could face up to 121 years in prison. This is what Chaney had to say for himself, “I didn’t know how to stop myself. It started as a curiosity and it turned into being addicted to seeing behind-the-scenes of what’s going on with these people you see on the big screen everyday.” He told CNN that he deeply apologizes and stated that, “These people don’t have privacy to begin with…I’ve had six months to think about. It eats at me.”

Other celebs that have been hacked (this info was released to show everyone that it could happen to anyone) include Mila Kunis, Christina Aguilera and Renee Olstead.

If you thought Kimora Lee Simmons was done with fashion after leaving Baby Phat, think again! In fact, she will be running things once again, as president and creative director of JustFab.com, a division of Intelligent Beauty, based in Manhattan Beach, California.

“I can’t even remember my official first day in the office, but I feel like this has been months in the making. We [she and Intelligent Beauty co-founders Adam Goldenberg and Don Ressler] have been talking about this for a very long time,” said Kimora.

She is also an investor in the Internet company, which is a member-only company that allows customers to buy in-house brands of sunglasses, clothes, purses and shoes. The site currently has 2.5 million American members and is gaining between 300K and 400K members monthly. Majority of its revenue relies on the creativity of Kimora and its Twitter following.

On Tuesday, an event was held for Lia Sophia’s line of jewelry and was attended by many celebs, including Paris Hilton, Ashlee Simpson, Ali Landry and Kourtney Kardashian. It was held in a courtyard at the Sunset Marquis Hotel located in West Hollywood. The brand is known for its lavish summer parties each year, which are usually held in L.A. at an elegant beach house. These events showcase their red carpet ready costume jewelry, in the hopes of catching the attention of attending celebs who wear them at red carpet events.
This year’s party featured chunky jeweled cocktail rings, Art Deco-inspired collar necklaces and angular-shaped earrings that sparkle brightly.

“The collection is always inspired by vintage, like stuff you’d find in your grandmother’s closet, mixed with trends,” said Dani Stahl, Nylon Magazine editor and the designer of lia sophia’s Red Carpet line. “Color is really important, which you can see in the ID bracelets. They’re a pop of preppy color for summer.”

Also featured were candy-colored enamel ID bracelets that were inspired by architectures that Dani came across during her travels recently. She claimed that she may even get inspiration for her future designs from her next trip to the Holy Land – Israel, which will be her first time going there. The parties are so much fun that fashion vets admitted that they had no idea that these events were pretty much for marketing. They said that they thought the jewelry pieces “just sort of appeared”. They’re usually inside of gift bags and handed out to the attendees.

We’ve all heard about the proposal and engagement between Kim Kardashian and NBA player Kris Humphries (looks like the Kardashian sisters have all been bitten by the wedding bug). A lot of folks may have been waiting for the two to call it off, since that is the norm with celebrity engagements, but the two lovebirds have actually done it. Their wedding took place today, August 20th, at 6 pm. Some of the musical talents that showed up and performed include Stevie Wonder and Earth, Wind & Fire.

The wedding took place in Monecito, California. Kim wore a custom wedding gown designed by Vera Wang and custom Louboutin shoes. The jewelry she wore were designed by Lorrain Schwartz and of course the princess wore her tiara and hair jewelry during the after-party. Her sisters were her bridesmaids and they wore ivory green gowns. The ceremony was rumored to be held at Eric Schmidt’s (Google’s chairman) estate, but was actually at another magnate in Montecito.

Some of the guest celebs that showed up include J-Lo, Justin Beiber, Serena Williams and La La Anthony (Kim’s close friend). Of course, this event will be televised – it was recorded and will air on E! It’s been reported that she will not be having a honeymoon and is scheduled to head straight to New York to begin filming for her reality show, “Kourtney & Kim Take New York”. However, there will be a second wedding party in New York, which was planned by Colin Cowie and Jason Binn (founder of Niche Media) will be throwing a celebration on August 31st at Capitale for the newlyweds.

The two will be nesting together in penthouse suite at Gansevoort Park Ave.

British singer Amy Winehouse was found dead in her home over this past weekend. The cause of death is said to be due to large amounts of alcohol and “bad” ecstasy. The troubled singer has been dealing with drug addiction and alcoholism for a long time now, and a lot of folks are saddened, but not too shocked. Some have even pointed out that this was a matter of ‘when’ than ‘if’.

Amy released her first album in 2003 at the age of 20, but didn’t gain popularity until her following album “Back to Black”. One of her popular songs is ironically “Rehab”, which has lyrics that says “they tried to make me go to rehab, I said no, no, no.

Winehouse was only 27 years old. She developed beginning stages of emphysema some years back due to smoking cigarettes and crack, which has been tied to her cause of death as well. Since her passing, her album sales have soared, bring back “Back to Black” to the charts at No. 59.

Various celebrities have tweeted about their devastation of her death, including Rihanna and her best friend Kelly Osbourne.

Amy Winehouse went into a slump after her prior album, saying that she had writers block, but kept promising that she would bring out something just as great as “Back to Black”. There were some songs in the works for her third album before her death.

Hopefully her family and friends will get the privacy they need to mourn the death of Amy Winehouse. She was truly a gem of the music industry.

R&B singer Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz are almost at their one year wedding anniversary (July 31st). During an interview with People magazine, she revealed that her wedding is “fly”. Finally, there’s a celebrity that can really gush about her marriage. We’re all tired of hearing the celebrity breakups and it is quite refreshing to hear about celebs (like Jada and Will Smith) who are making it through…HAPPILY.

Alicia Keys reminisced about her wedding day that took place almost a year ago, stating that it was number one on her list of happiest days (likely tied with the birth of their son Egypt Dean):

“When I walked down [the aisle] and saw him, I could barely hold myself together,” she says. “It was so beautiful – just about he and I and our love. The wedding was one of the best days of my life.”

Alicia Keys is also estatic about her ten year anniversary for her first album, Songs in A Minor. She’s also revealed that her gorgeous get-ups have been inspired by her new hubby Swizz Beatz:

“I can say, ‘I’m not sure about this look for the BET Awards. What do you think?’ And I know that he will honestly tell me exactly what’s up,” she says.
