Chelsea Clinton Gets Married
Just yesterday, Chelsea Clinton (30 years old) and her fiancee Marc Mezvinsky (32 years old) were wedded at Astor Courts, an estate formerly owned by millionaire John Jacob Astor IV. It’s located in Rhinebeck, New York. The wedding altogether cost nearly $5 million, but who didn’t expect a lavishly expensive wedding for the former first daughter? Her dress alone was worth $25,000 (made by either Vera Wang or Oscar de la Renta) and her cake was just shy of $11,000. To accommodate the 500 guests that showed up, Clinton purchased portaloo trailers (portapotties) that had porcelain, flushable toilets. Running hot water (and music) was also available inside of the trailers as well — all for $16,000.
Then the jewelry that was worn by Chelsea Clinton was about $250,000. The tents for the event cost $620,000 and the table settings and dressings were around $970,000. It was reported that she had $500,000 worth of flowers — orchids and Casablanca lilies. The wedding planner of this beautiful event was none other than Donnie Brown, who said, “This will definitely be the biggest wedding of the year.” And this may be true. Others too have said that this will be the American society event of the year. Now, to keep this wedding out of tabloids and away from uninvited guests, the Clintons hired top security to do so — which cost them $203,000.

With all this being said, it is known that this wedding has topped others, as being the most expensive wedding planned. This pushes Liza Minnelli and David Gest’s wedding out the way, which was $2.5 million. It even tops Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ wedding that cost around $1.9 million.
